How to configure Gmail Account in Outlook Express




1. Open your e-mail account.
2. Go to settings page. Click on the link “Forwarding and POP/IMAP“
It will take you a page which contains multiple radio buttons.
3. Select the radio button “Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on” and click the save button. It will bring you back to the inbox.

4. Open Outlook Express
5. Go to tools menu and select the “accounts” option.
6. Move to “add” button and activate it. A menu with items will open.
7. Choose the mail option. The internet connection wizard will open.
8. In the first field, type your name or nick name you want to display in your mails. And activate the “Next Greater” button.
9. In the edit box, type your email address and choose “next greater” button.
10 In the incoming mail, type “pop.gmail.com.
11. In the outgoing mail field type SMTP.gmail.com and choose “next greater” button. 12. Type your gmail password in the required field and choose the “next greater” button. 13. Click “finish” button to save the changes.

14. Go to the properties. It will present you a multi-page dialog box.
15. In the general page, go to “organization name: edit” Write the. Name of your organization.
16. Move to “reply address: edit” and write your email address.

17. Move to “servers page” and select the check box “My server requires authentication” and move to the advance page.

18. In the first edit field which is “Outgoing mail (SMTP): edit”, delete the previous number 25 and write 465.
19. Move forward and select the check box “This server requires a secure connection (SSL)”.
20. The next edit field is “Incoming mail (POP3): edit”. Here, you will find the number 110, leave it and select the next check box “This server requires a secure connection (SSL)”, 995 will replace the number 110 which was written in the above edit box.
21. Move forward and select the check box “Leave a copy of messages on server”. Go to “okay” button and activate it. Then, move to “close” button and activate it.
